The draft schedule for the second week of the summer school in Stockholm is now available.
Preparation “Pecha Kucha”
Pecha Kucha is a presentation style in which the slides are automated and each slide will be shown 20 seconds, before it switches to the next. We would like you to prepare a Pecha Kucha presentation, using the template, and submit it to Jan Gulliksen before August 17th [gulliksen(at)kth.se]. The slides should contain:
- Slide 1: Who are you?
- Slide 2-4: What is your research question, problems, ambitions?
- Slide 5: How do you want to be cited in the future?
- Slide 6: Something that we didn’t know about you…
In case you kept your name tags from Dublin, please take them with you to Stockholm. Otherwise we can give you a new one.
Arrival
We suggest to arrive on Sunday for the opening on Monday at 9:00 and leave Saturday. The last session ends on Friday at 16:30. Stockholm has three airports
- Arlanda – main airport (recommended)
- Bromma – Stockholm city airport
- Skavsta – 1.5 hours away
From Arlanda Airport, you can get to Stockholm by
- Airport Fasttrain: Arlanda Express (20 minutes)
- Single 280 SEK, Return 540 SEK
- Student 140 SEK, Return 280 SEK

Accommodation
We have pre-booked rooms for everybody at a low rate at Stiftelsen Drottning Victorias Örlogshem:
- Single: 800 SEK (~82 €)
- Double: 1200 SEK (~123 €)

Örlogshemmet is found at Teatergatan 3. A small street right between the Grand Hotel and Radisson/Strand Hotel. A quiet street a bit on the side of the busy city area yet in the middle of town. From central station, it is easy to reach by foot:
KTH Royal Institute of Technology
All activities – except Tuesday – will take place at the main campus of KTH Royal Institute of Technology in the Visualization Studio. From your accommodation at Örlogshem it is a 2 km walk.
It is also possible to take the subway (blue line, 14 – Mörby Centrum) from Östermalmstorg to Tekniska Högskolan. However – as this trip is only two stops, it might be wiser (and healthier) to walk. 🙂
The Visualization Studio is located at Lindstedtsvägen 5, floor 4, room nr 4453.
Uppsala
Tuesday is going to take place in Uppsala and we have chartered a bus that will pick you up at Nybrokajen outside of Grand Hotel and it is marked with KTH at 07.45 and take you directly there.
Those who want to stay in Uppsala in the evening the 22nd of August are invited to a joint dinner at Basilico. Participants need to pay for their own food. The speakers at the seminars in Uppsala are also invited to this dinner. Please fill in this doodle.
The restaurant asked us to order the food in advance. You can find the menu (using Google translate) here. Please put your order in this sheet not later than Friday 18th of August at 18.00.
Dinner on Thursday
We will have a joint dinner on Thursday evening, 18:30 at Konstnärsbaren, which is quite close to the hotel.
